TEACHING CERTIFICATION

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

Satya Meditation and Yoga School is delighted to offer their internationally acclaimed and accredited 200-hour yoga and meditation teacher training at Goddess Eco-Garden Resort in Cahuita, Costa Rica.
Immerse yourself in one of the most beautiful and healing places on the planet.
Meet like-minded people from around the world with an interest in spirituality, healing and nature.
Satya Meditation and Yoga School offers authentic and traditional yoga as intended by the ancient sages.

Satya means truth.  Connect deeper to your own inner truth through spiritual exploration.

This internationally acclaimed and accredited 200-Hour yoga and meditation teacher training is curated for the dedicated, spiritual, and open-minded yogi.  In this training, you will dive deep into your own, personal practice; learn about the depths of yoga as an ancient science; and you will practice and study teaching methodologies to safely and effectively share these practices anywhere in the world as a registered and certified yoga instructor.

This program doubles as both a teacher certification course, as well as an in-depth personal development, self-healing and quantum growth course.

This 200 hour yoga and meditation teacher training heavily emphasizes the practice and teaching of meditation, which, according to is the
ancient yogi sages, such as Patanjali, is the ultimate goal and practice to develop on the spiritual path.  Nowadays throughout the west, the practice of yoga has been correlated to mostly body movements and postures.  Some teachers may include a breathing exercise or two, or may include a couple of minutes of silence during class, but the practice of meditation seems to have been lost in the west.

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which is an ancient text (with modern commentary), which provides the framework for the spiritual journey and spiritual path of yoga.  Patanjali heavily emphasizes concepts of surrender, awareness, breath, concentration of the mind and mediation.  He lays the foundation for the spiritual seeker to find their way to liberation through the culmination of these practices, which is not through asana alone. The asana helps keep the body healthy, pure, clean and strong, for without a healthy body (our spiritual vessel), it will be nearly impossible to do the more subtle work (meditation).

The Satya Meditation and Yoga Teacher Training goes above and beyond to ensure that each student has a working understanding and knowledge of the ancient sciences of both meditation and yoga in practical and applicable ways.

This teacher training program offers some of the most inclusive, accessible, extensive and authentic information available on this side of the globe.  Inspiration from this course has been taken from the lineages of Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vipassana Meditation, with content brought directly from India and Costa Rica.  This course heavily focuses on the yin and yang aspects of the yogic practices, as well as philosophy and the experience living as a spiritual human on a spiritual journey in our modern society.

This training offers a proper foundation for teaching yoga and meditation safely, confidently and knowledgeably with its comprehensive and hands-on curriculum.  You will gain the tools and experiences needed to carry the torch of yoga into the world.

This course is equally appropriate for this who wish to teach yoga as well as for those who just want to deepen their practice and understanding of yoga and meditation.

Upon completion of the training, you will earn a 200-hour certificate and you will be eligible to register with Yoga Alliance, the international yoga accreditation board for yoga teachers,
in the traditions of Hatha/Vinyasa yoga.  This program will also prepare you for future study within a 300- or 500-hour advanced yoga teacher training.  Students will receive life-long mentoring and guidance from Sara Syed, E-RYT 700, lead teacher of this teacher training program.

Requirements

Identifying as a yoga teacher is a commitment to living the yogi lifestyle (with best effort).  It's a commitment to continuous learning, practicing daily healthy habits, increasing your awareness and consciousness, practicing seva and so much more.  It's a commitment to a life of continual practice so you have experiential knowledge to pass down to the people you will one day call your students.  If you are inspired and guided to take this course, please be mindful of our requirements for serious students:

  • You have experienced the healing and transformative benefits of yoga and meditation first-hand in your own life.
  • You can work diligently and be self-directed.  Although you will be guided throughout this program, it is up to each individual student to show up and do the work.  You will get out of this program what you put into this program.  It is an investment in yourself.
  • You can communicate effectively.  As the old adage goes, "ask and you shall receive."  It is only when we communicate our needs, challenges, and intent that change and transformation can occur.  The teacher can help you along your journey, but you must meet the teacher halfway.

Sara Syed, Owner, The Studio Cleveland, 700 E-RYT, Masters in Education in Curriculum & Instruction, Bachelors of Science in Psychology, Thai Yoga Massage
Sara Syed is the owner of The Studio Cleveland, a holistic wellness center in downtown Cleveland.  She is an experienced Vipassana meditator with 5 years of intensive meditation practice.  She has attended 10-day silent meditation retreats almost every year since 2017 to deepen her own, personal meditation practice.  She is an experienced and registered yoga instructor (700-ERYT), hosts her own Internationally Accredited Yoga and Meditation Teacher Trainings (200 Hour Registered Yoga School) through the Yoga Alliance and semi-annual retreats to peaceful and inspiring locations throughout America and the world.  Sara has been practicing yoga since the tender age of 17 and has completed yoga teacher trainings in Costa Rica (2014) and in India (2016), prior to diving deep into her meditation training.  Sara has graduated over 100 students in her 200 Hour Yoga and Meditation Teacher Trainings since 2019.

Her graduate training to obtain her Master's in Science in Curriculum & Instruction provided her with experience to effectively and efficiently teach large groups of students in meaningful and engaging ways.

Sara Syed started practicing yoga during high school in 2008. She found the gift of yoga while she was struggling with addiction, anxiety, eating-disorders and depression.  She soon discovered the benefits of yoga and meditation and noticed that these practices provided a sense of peace and relief.

Sara practiced throughout Cleveland, Ohio, until she attended her first yoga teacher training in Cahuita, Costa Rica, in 2014, in the lineage of Hatha yoga with a strong influence from BKS Iyengar.  Since, Sara has traveled the world practicing, learning, and teaching the subtle art and ancient science of yoga. She has spent hundreds of hours teaching yoga and meditation at universities, fitness centers, local festivals, in public schools, private schools, mental health facilities, juvenile detention centers, and in yoga studios.

Sara completed her 300-hour teaching training program in India in 2016, where she attended Yogadarshanam Ashtanga/Hatha yoga school. While in Mysore, India, Sara also attended the K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute under Saraswathi Jois.

Sara took an additional 200 hours of training with Kino Macgregor through Miami Life Center in 2020.

For meditation, Sara attends 10-day silent meditation retreats in the lineage of the Buddha known as Vipassana.  These retreats have greatly attributed to her deep style of meditation practice.

Sara takes a holistic approach to living and believes our entire lifestyle should follow healthy and spiritual guidelines.

Sara makes her classes accessible to students of all experience levels. Her classes focus on synchronizing the breath and body movement to balance the nervous system and the mind. Students leave her class feeling renewed, inspired, empowered and full of love.

East Meets West:
Sara believes in teaching the ancient science and arts of yoga and meditation in their original form to help maintain its integrity here in the west.
