Radical Relaxation & Practicing Enlightenment:
Restorative yoga is a calming, quieting and nourishing practice that creates the conditions for relaxation in the body to regulate the nervous system and promote the relaxation response. The intention of a restorative posture or class is not to stretch or strengthen, but rather to create the conditions for rest, and rejuvenation--offering the infinite wisdom of the body (and the parasympathetic nervous system) the time, space and attention to promote healing, balance and wellness from within.
During this 20-hour Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, you will experience deep relaxation in your own body & mind as well as listen to lecture, participate in discussion, partner and group work. This training offers an overview of the theory, alignment, sequencing, and energetics of Restorative yoga.
In this training, we will explore:
Who can participate?
New and experienced yoga teachers as well as any and all health professionals and body-workers, fitness instructors, health coaches, and care-givers of all kinds. Serious yoga students of all styles of yoga welcome. This training is for anyone who would like to deepen their knowledge and experience of restorative yoga as well as share the power of restoratives with others. This practice is for all bodies and levels of ability.
Enrollment:
ONCE students are SIGNED UP, I will separately send a Welcome letter with more details including: Required reading, prop suggestions, full schedule and suggestions for extra layers, lunch, my teaching schedule, what to bring to our sessions as well as suggestions for the weekend to take in the material and immerse yourself if restorative environment. Encouragement to participate in as little extra stimulus as possible to really let your nervous system rest. Imagine a retreat scenario and a full reset for yourself while you immerse yourself in learning.
As a result of this training:
You will be able to confidently lead a restorative yoga class, offer restoratives in your traditional yoga classes, deepen your knowledge and experience of restoratives and the nervous system/relaxation response and offer therapeutic restoratives in a private yoga setting.
Upon completion:
You will receive A Restorative Yoga Training Certificate (which you can use to apply for Yoga Alliance CEU hours in Restorative Yoga), an extensive training manual, recommended reading and resources.

- Neurological, physical, psychological, and energetic principles of Restorative Yoga
- Minimal, creative and therapeutic propping
- Basic alignment, sequencing and themes
- Setting the conditions: environment, cueing, voice, language, music
- Restorative practices for private clients or group classes
- How to include restoratives in vinyasa or hatha group classes
- Restorative Hands-on Assists
- Tools to trigger the relaxation response
- Benefits of consistent practice & value of restoratives
