New at The Studio:
Native American Energy Work
The Connection
Ancient Native American teachings that honor the ancestors, the earth, its stones, energy and plant life have been handed down through many generations. Stones and plant oils have been used for hundreds of years to bring physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being to people. I began to learn this work in 2011 when I received an unexpected email about Healing Hands, a form of energy work from the Dakota Sioux. I feel honored to offer this sacred work grounded in generations of experience. It has been a significant part of my own healing journey and has reconnected me to the natural world as well as my own true nature. Thank you to Robert Melchioris and Jenny, White Bear Medicine Woman for keeping these techniques alive. http://www.sacredstonemedicine.com/
The Offerings
•Healing Hands (has similarities to Reiki) A form of hands-on energy healing that begins at the heart and travels around the whole body. Hands are gently laid on the body and energy is transmitted through the hands. The hollow bone concept from the Sioux people is invoked - "may I be hollow like a bone,” “let the healing come through me,” “I am not the healer but a conduit for healing energy."
Rain Bath
This hundreds-of-years-old sacred ceremony bathes you in warm stones, cool stones and essential oils. (Rain Bath differs from Raindrop Therapy which is an adaptation the Native American technique.) Warm stones build the riverbed on the body and relax and calm. Essential oils are dripped onto the body to ground and soothe. Finally, more stones are gently tapped on the body to revitalize the body, mind and spirit and reawaken to a new self. Although the actual tribal origins are no longer known, this method of practice has been carried forward by the Assiniboine in Canada and the Sioux Nations of the US. Jenny, White Bear Medicine Woman of the Santee Dakota Sioux Nation has introduced this ancient healing work to modern day body workers.
